MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! From me and George the Basset! I can’t believe it’s only 3 days away!!!
I have decided to keep the links + George update posts to once a month, and to keep the links more relevant to the season. This month it’s all about Christmas recipes, but next month expect something healthier, you know, since we will all be trying to recover from these tasty indulgences.
George is doing well. He’s gained some weight (perhaps it has something to do with extra cookies + Mom and Dad being too busy to walk him). Keeping a basset hound fit is not an easy task.
You can see in the photos, the 10 minutes of having to “sit” and “stay” really took it’s toll on him. That was the 3rd or 4th time he laid down. The basset life is exhausting!
Although he’s not allowed on the couch, he has recently regressed, even sleeping on the “extra forbidden white couch” upstairs when he thinks we’re not looking.
We discovered a new dog park down the road from us, and he loves it. He spends his time there (not playing) with other dogs and sniffing everything. His favorite thing is walking around to every human, plopping on his back, and getting belly rubs.
Last week, the side gate got left open, and he wandered out of it, totally oblivious to how far he was going when Taylor spotted him waaaaay down the hill. Bassets will follow their nose anywhere, and they have no homing instinct. Not a great combination of characteristics.
Oh, and that ridiculously cute santa suit he’s wearing was an early Christmas present from my good friend, Rachel! It’s a leeeetle snug on him (even though it’s a large), but if I pull hard enough, the tips of the velcro come together. 😉
Speaking of fat, here are the best CHRISTMAS recipes from some of my favorite bloggers!
